Our process

We know wedding planning can be an intense process — so we want to make things easy for you. Below is a breakdown of our process from inquiry to post office drop-off and all the magic in between.

We recommend reaching out to start the invitation design process with us as early as a year in advance. Save the dates typically hit the mail 6-9 months from your wedding day while invitations go out 8-12 weeks in advance. Getting in touch early helps make sure there’s less timeline stress and more doing the fun things (aka anything but chasing down your Cousin Bob’s address last minute).

Our custom clients typically spend anywhere from $4,000 to $10,000+ on their save the dates, invitations, and day of paper. We’re happy to let you know your best printing and design options based on your budget during your consult.

Step 1: Questionnaire & Consult

First things first: let’s see what you need with our questionnaire. Once we know what you’re looking for and all the major details, Megan will reach out to schedule a consult. Consults are typically held in person or over the phone and involve a lot of fun paper talk (letterpress, ribbon, wax seals, oh my!). From there, Megan will put together a totally custom proposal for you before you book.

Step 2: Designing & ProofinG

Now it’s time for the fun part — designing YOUR invitations! Megan puts together all the magical details you discussed at your consult and initial proofs appear in your inbox (which are way more exciting than spam email, trust us.) Another exciting fact: our custom design process comes with unlimited proofing. We literally proof until your paper is perfect. Yes, we know, it’s awesome.

Step 3: Approval & Printing

You’re loving it, we’re loving it — it’s time to go to print! After you sign off, we’ll get your pretty little creations off to print. Depending on the print method we chose together, print production can take 2-3 weeks from proof approval to a physical version of the best invitation your friends have ever seen. If you’re adding any final touches like calligraphy, we’ll coordinate everything.

Once your suite is back from our production partners, Megan hand inspects each piece to ensure everything is just right.

Step 4: Mail (and get excited!)

It’s time for the big moment — handing those pretties off to the United States Postal Service to reach your super excited loved ones. We offer stuffing, stamping and mailing services, or you can take that project on with your wedding party (bring non-red wine and plenty of snacks).

Once all of your excited responses have started rolling in, we’ll start on your day of stationery (signage, escort cards, menus — whatever your heart desires). From there all that’s left to do is get married!

Let’s plant a tree!

We’ve partnered up with One Tree Planted to plant one tree for every custom invitation we design. Paper love means tree love, and we’re excited to give back!
